Update 03 March 2006
Update 23 February 2006
Recycling of shingle from PBSC to Sovereign Harbour will finish today with all machines moving to Normans Bay East tomorrow. Here, shingle will be brought in from Herbrand Walk tomorrow and from Cooden during the early part of next week.
Update 17 February 2006
Whilst it has by no means been a bad winter, what storms we have had seem to have been intent on coinciding with spring tides.
Consequently we will be undertaking our third recycle operation of the winter starting on Monday at ‘White Horses’/Sovereign Harbour. As usual it will be a Monday to Friday daytime operation. With no machines working before 07:30.
The first stage will involve moving shingle from Pevensey Bay Sailing Club back to Sovereign Harbour and ‘White Horses’ as necessary and will probably last three or four days.
On this occasion Beachlands may not need any work doing – perhaps one day.
Plant breakdowns towards the end of January’s work meant that little shingle was moved from Cooden. By the time we reach Cooden this time, we will bring in extra dumptrucks to enable shingle to be hauled west as far as Normans Bay East and the Herbrand Walk fishing station.
I will provide updates next week as we determine how things progress.
Best wishes for a pleasant weekend
